It takes 2.5 – 3 pounds of beans to make just one pound of cocoa butter. Most cocoa butter is extracted at high heat, sometimes using solvents, thus destroying the Vitamin E content and often has pesticide residue, but not ours! (It’s certified organic AND Australian Customs regularly test it on import).
Cacao Butter is the edible natural fat of the chocolate bean, cold pressed to retain its nutritional properties and exquisite natural aroma and flavor. It’s traditionally been used as a rich natural moisturizer; as a decadent massage oil; for soothing babies sore bums; in organic- based cosmetics like lipstick and balm, and in luxury soap making.
Use instead of butter on toast etc, or warm gently until soft (melting point approx 35C / 95 F), then add as desired to raw food concoctions like bliss balls or ice cream, chocolate creations, smoothies or desserts – or smear on skin and lips for the ultimate moisturizer.
